Robyn Johannes Looks Set To Remain At Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns defender Robyn Johannes looks set to remain with the Brazilians after being turned down by Ajax Cape Town.
Johannes was also reported to be on AmaZulu’s wanted list but according
to Usuthu coach Neil Tovey, their offer to bring the former Under-23
national captain to Durban was turned down by Sundowns.
The defender has not hidden the fact that he wants game-time and would like a move from the Brazilians, where coach Hristo Stoichkov continues to sideline him.
Sundowns have signed Brazilian defender Eduardo Ferreira, which has made things more difficult for Johannes to get a chance to play at Chloorkop.
Urban Warriors’ CEO George Comitis tolds KickOff.com that his club is preparing to release two players rather than signing anyone at this stage of the season.
“We have had a few players offered to us by their agents but cannot mention their names as they can put those players into trouble at their respective teams," he said.
“We are happy with what we have and we have more than enough central defenders in the club. We are looking at releasing two players but cannot divulge their names,” he concluded.
