The Everton midfielder has been the stand-out player for South Africa
in a horror year, and has also established himself as a key player for
English Premier League side Everton.
Gavin Hunt was named Coach of the Year after leading SuperSport United to a second successive Premier Soccer League title – and looks odds-on favourite to make it three in a row in the 2009-10 season.
Ajax Cape Town’s Thulani Serero was named national Under-20 side Player of the Year, while United FC goalkeeper Nkosana Maseko was Vodacom Promotional League Player of the Year.
