Lucas Thwala And Rowan Fernandez To Play For South Africa Against Jamaica
Both players have been told they will play in Tuesday’s international against the Reggae Boys...
Thwala will come in for the injured left-back Tsepo Masilela, who has
an inflamed ankle, while it had been agreed before the two matches
against Japan and Jamaica that Moeneeb Josephs would play one match and
Fernandez the other.
According to Kickoff.com, Carlos Alberto Parreira said he might look at several other players later on in Tuesday’s game, but gave no details.
Bafana staff say that Daylon Claasen has impressed in training, but is considered too slight, while Kermit Erasmus is a good finisher, but needed more application in training. Both players are uncapped.
Parreira is likely to continue with Belgian-based Anele Ngongca at right-back, after an impressive debut against the Japanese on Tuesday. The Cape Town-born defender, who has never played in the PSL, has replaced the injured Siboniso Gaxa.
