Although SAFA CEO Raymond Hack refused to actually say it, he all but confirmed that Santana’s job is not on the line at all.
Hack sat down for a meeting with Santana earlier today and the Brazilian coach submitted his report of the recent trip to Germany and Ireland, where Bafana lost both matches.
It had been widely speculated that today’s meeting was to discuss Santana’s future with the national team, but Hack confirms it was merely following standard procedure and the Brazilian’s job was not on the agenda.
Hack told the nation that although Bafana have lost six matches in a row, Santana is not going anywhere.
“We had a meeting and he was submitting the report from the trip,” he told KickOff.com.
Asked if it was a crisis meeting about the record-breaking losing streak, Hack reacted angrily.
“There is nothing like that, alright?” Hack snarled at Kickoff. He responded to the question about whether Santana's job was safe with a simple 'yes', before excusing himself.
