thumbnail Hello,

The beleaguered Bafana Bafana coach will meet his bosses on Monday to explain the national team’s woeful form of late...

The Brazilian has just overseen Bafana’s worst-ever run – six successive defeats – and the calls for him to be fired have been virtually non-stop, following the dire 1-0 loss to a second-string Republic of Ireland side on Tuesday.

Santana will also have to clarify to SAFA CEO Raymond Hack reports doing the rounds that he had not consulted his technical staff on team selection for the recent European tour, according to the Sunday Times.

“People have been coming to inform us that there was no consultation in terms of team selection and tactics for the games against Germany and Ireland,” a SAFA national executive committee spokesman told the paper.

“We want to investigate, because something definitely seems to be wrong. Santana must give us a 110 per cent commitment that there will be harmony and a close working relationship to get the best result possible,” the source added.

It is reported that the NEC want to bring former Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira back. Hack has confirmed the meeting, but refused to divulge the reasons for holding it.
