Orlando Pirates Coach Ruud Krol Ready For Jomo Cosmos
Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol says that they will not underestimate PSL returnees Jomo Cosmos when the two meet tomorrow in the Premiership game at Orlando Stadium.
Speaking at Bucs’ media open day yesterday, Krol said he knows that as new boys on the block Ezenkosi are hungrier than most other teams.“They have just come back and they are always hard to beat. It will be the same this time around as they want to prove a point now that they are back in top flight. We have to fight hard in such games but we are up to the task,” Krol added.
“Every team wants to win. We also want to win and that is what football is all about. We want to achieve something bigger this season and if I look at my players, they show that they also want something.”
Good news in the Pirates camp is that their Botswana international Phenyo Mongala has received his work permit.
“I am very happy that my papers have finally been sorted out,” Mongala told KickOff.com.
“It was really frustrating, but now that all the necessary paperwork has been sorted, it means that I am now available to play and make up for lost time. I want to be part of the team that wins something this season and to do so that I need to play.”
The 24-year-old former AmaTuks winger, who joined Pirates in July, scored against Manchester City in the Vodacom Challenge, which Pirates won 2-0.
However, due to the delay in the issuing of his work permit, the winger was forced to miss out on the opening matches of the league, as well as the MTN8 game against Ajax Cape Town.
Bucs’ administrative officer, Floyd Mbele, also disclosed they are still waiting for work permits for Congo international Blaise Kiaku and Cameroonian Frank Olivier.
