Orlando Pirates midfielder Benson Mhlongo says he is having a new lease of life this season after scoring his second goal of the league campaign in Bucs’ 1-0 win over Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows last night.
“It is not just me, but the team as a whole. I cannot win it on my own, but I feel very good. I feel like a young man since the start of the season. I think I am enjoying my game again,” Mhlongo tells KickOff.com.
The stand-in captain says he thinks there are good things in store for Pirates this season as they want to win some silverware.
“If we can continue like this, then great things will happen at the end of the season. I know we are not scoring many goals, but they will start coming soon. We just need to keep on winning, and then everything will fall in place," he added.
“All our players are hungry for success this season. We have always been hungry, but this time around it is just much more. We want to repay the faith that everyone at the club has shown in us.”
The Bafana Bafana star says they have already put their win over the Birds behind them and are looking forward to the game against Jomo Cosmos at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
“We cannot continue celebrating until the weekend, then it will catch up with us. We need to focus on the job ahead and that is the Cosmos game," he explained.
“Being our home game, we need the three points so as to make sure that we set the pace in the League. We want to win the League this year and believe me we are capable of doing that."
