Maccabi Haifa have reportedly decided to release Bafana Bafana striker Terror Fanteni.South Africa striker Terror Fanteni had a quiet FIFA Confederations Cup tournament last month, disappointing many fans who thought he would be a crucial element of the side ahead of next year's World Cup.
According to Kickoff.com, the striker will be allowed to leave by Maccabi Haifa, but his destination is not believed to be South Africa, as a move elsewhere in Europe seems to be the more likely option.
Fanteni’s imminent departure comes in part due to Maccabi signing a Georgian international forward during the transfer period. This is being seen as a sign that the forward should look elsewhere, and he is being allowed to find a suitable club for a move.
Reports from Israel suggest Fanteni may be loaned to Cyprus club Apollon Limassol.
The arrival of Vladimir Dvalishvili could also mean a transfer away from Haifa for Ghanaian striker Ransford Osei, as a mini exodus of African players takes place, with Siyabonga Nkosi having already made his way out of the Israeli club, returning to South Africa with SuperSport United recently.
