thumbnail Hello,

The Bafana Bafana midfielder was honoured as player of the season at the club's awards ceremony.

Moroka Swallows were crowned 2009 Nedbank Cup champions on Saturday,  following their 1-0 win over National First Division side Pretoria University.

Celebrations continued on Tuesday as players and the technical staff were rewarded for their efforts throughout the season.

Tsutsulupa, who won a Cosafa Cup medal with Bafana Bafana in May last year, pocked R20 000 for the player of the season award.  The next biggest winner on the day was another midfielder Mark Haskins.

He was voted the players' player of the season and also picked up the most improved player accolade. Haskins banked R25,000 for the two awards.

Brazilian midfielder Igor Alves, who joined the  club at the beginning of the season, got the best newcomer award and R5,000 while lanky striker Sandile Ndlovu got R10,000 and the Golden Boot after ending the season as the club’s top scorer.

The PSL season was a relatively disappointing one for the birds, but they were able to secure a spot in African club football in the next campaign as winners of the domestic cup.
