Bloemfontein Celtic winger Fischer Kondowe, who broke a toe in his right foot a month ago, needs four more weeks before he can begin light training again.
“I went for check up on Monday and the doctor was amazed at how fast I’m recovering. He was surprised that I’m able to walk without the slightest hint of pain," the Malawian told KickOff.com.
“The temptation for me has been to resume light training but I was warned that the small bone could break again,” he added.
Kondowe says he will only resume training after the four weeks even though he feels he might be fully fit before the prescribed time.
He broke his toe in training last month with his club, two days before he was due to join the Flames in the Ivory Coast for what turned out to be a 5-0 loss in their Group E opening 2010 Afcon qualifying match.
Kondowe has been excluded from the squad to face Burkina Faso at home on June 6.
