Two foreign-based players and four locals in the Ghana Premier League have been taken out of the double-header taking place next month
Ghana have dropped six players from the 30-member squad invited for training ahead of a 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia.

The Black Stars have been training in Ghana’s capital, Accra, over the past six days and ahead of their departure to the cosmopolitan city of Kumasi on Sunday, coach Kwesi Appiah trimmed his squad to 24.

The affected six players are Wa All Stars goalkeeper Robert Dabuo, defender Masawudu Alhassan of Genoa and Rashid Sumaila of Ghana Premier League side Ebusua Dwarfs.

The rest are Solomon Asante, who was dropped over eligibility reasons since he is alleged to have featured for Burkina Faso in a previous tournament, Servette’s Ishmael Yartey and the leading goal scorer of the domestic top flight, Emmanuel Baffour.

According to the Ghana FA website, defender Isaac Vorsah, who is suspended for the Lesotho game, was added to the squad because he will be available for selection in the match against Zambia.

This means one central defender will be dropped before the team departs for the training camp in South Africa ahead of their clash with the Chipolopolo in Ndola.
