Asante Kotoko win Ghana Premier League
The Porcupine Warriors won their 22nd league title on Sunday after drawing with Berekum Chelsea to extend their unbeaten run to 14 matches
Asante Kotoko are the 2011-12 Ghana league champions after having extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches on Sunday.The Porcupine Warriors are lifting the domestic top flight trophy for the 22nd time after a 0-0 draw against Berekum Arsenal at their Baba Yara Stadium stronghold.
The Fabulous club has now opened a 15-point lead with four games remaining to bring down the curtain on a successful season.
Coach Maxwell Konadu told Goal.com that the feat comes with a great deal of effort and playing in continental football throughout Africa is a dream come true.
“We have been absent on the continent for about three years now,” he said. “We’re back and we did so with style. I’m a happy man and I’m so grateful to the players for executing all the plans to bring us this far.”
Kotoko are two-time African champions.
