Mighty Jets shared the spoils with Berekum Arsenal in their away game at the Golden City Park on Sunday. The implication of the results means that the Gunners have fallen to the bottom of the log on 11 points after 16 games. Jets now have 18 points.
Hearts of Lions 0-1 Hearts of Oak
Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston helped giants Hearts of Oak in a 1-0 win over Heart of Lions. It was his debut game in the domestic top flight after close to a decade of playing abroad. Thanks to a goal from captain Mahatma Otoo, the Phobians are trailing league leaders Asante Kotoko with four points separating them.
Bechem United 0-1 Wassaman United
Wassaman left the Bechem Park on Sunday all smiles as Godbless Asamoah scored the match winner to lift them off the bottom of the 16-team race.
Ashgold 2-1 Edubiase
The Miners ensured that their fans left their home ground, Len Clay, the happiest supporters with a 2-1 win against New Edubiase. The league’s top scorer Emmanuel Baffour had put his side in the lead in the first half, however, a second-half comeback gave the home side some hope. Didier Kore and Latif Mohammed scored the two goals to move their side to 10th place.
Tema Youth 0-3 Dwarfs
Tema Youth could not reply to any of Ebusua Dwarfs’ three goals at the Tema Park. A goal was recorded in the first half with the remaining two coming in the second. Eric Opoku opened the floodgates before captain Bismark Asiedu bagged a brace to lift Dwarfs into 5th place.
Medeama 0-1 Kotoko
The Porcupine Warriors are still leading the log with 34 points after a 1-0 win over Medeama on Sunday at the Sekondi Stadium. The Kumasi giants scored before half time courtesy of Ben Acheampong.
