Olympique Marseilles’ Andre Ayew nominated for Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year

Olympique Marseille's Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew is gunning for the French Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year accolade.

The 21-year-old is facing opposition from PSG’s Mamadou Sakho, Sochaux’s Marvin Martin and Rennes’ Yann M’Vila for the French Professional Footballer’s Union's [UNFP] prestigious award.

The U20 World Cup winner has been one of Les Phocéens' key men in the domestic league and the Champions League with some impressive match-winners this season.

He has been linked with moves to either Manchester United or Barcelona this summer, a report that has thrilled the left-winger.

The end of season awards will be held on May 22.
