Defending league champions of Ghana Accra Hearts of Oak were torn into pieces by underdogs Wa All Stars over the weekend.

Although All Stars finished the game with ten men, they outplayed the 2005 CAF Confederation Cup winners in a 2-0 win.

Frank Nortey Sowah and Ben Acheampong gave the Blues the necessary goals to record their second successive win.

The result is a big blow to the league title holders as they prepare to meet their arch-rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

The All Stars boys outplayed Hearts in all departments of the game, making the players look too ordinary to the dislike of their supporters, the Ghana News Agency reports.

But for the numerous chances wasted by the home side, the 21-time Ghana league champions would have returned to their Accra base with loads of goals.

For their outstanding performance All Stars received close to a $1000 from Mahmud Khalid, the government representative who heads the region the team comes from in the Upper West.

The President of the Ghana Football Association and owner of the club, Kwesi Nyantakyi inspired his side to keep their head up and win their games ahead to get to the top.
