Zamalek attacking midfielder Mahmoud Abdel Razik, also known as Shikabala, seems close to a move to Belgian club Anderlecht, if the Europeans up their current offer by €3 million.
The Goal.com Arabic edition exclusively revealed that Anderlecht officials left Cairo to return to Brussels today following a rejection of their €1.5m offer by Zamalek, who are holding out for an offer of €4.5m.
This projected offer takes into consideration the fact that Anderlecht offered Zamalek a percentage of any future transfer to another club of around 10 per cent to 15%.
The source at Anderlecht told Goal.com that the Belgium club made the lower offer because Shikabala's contract ends in October, but the board will apparently decide in their meeting today (Tuesday) whether to make another offer for the highly-rated midfielder.
Anderlecht tried to sign Shikabala last summer, but Zamalek were not interested in selling and asked for an exaggerated amount to scare the club off. Anderlecht have now reignited their interest as they are very close to letting Romelu Lukaku go due to their economic situation.
Standard Liege joined the race for Shikabala's signature last year, but the Zamalek board decided against selling him at the time.
