Al Ahly Target Frank Rijkaard For Coach Job

The Dutchman remained coy on his future when asked earlier today...

Frank Rijkaard - Barcelona
Frank Rijkaard is reported to be the favourite to take over as Al Ahly coach when Manuel Jose leaves to take over Angola.

The Dutchman has been out of work since leaving Barcelona last summer and has been linked with plenty of jobs this year.

When speaking about his future earlier on today he said he does still want to coach at club level but that he is not sure what the future holds.

Nevertheless, Dostor reports that Rijkaard will try his hand in Egypt and take over Al Ahly this summer.

The newspaper claims that plenty of businessmen, who are fans of the club, have already agreed to pay the salary of the coach when he comes.

If Rijkaard were to move to Egypt it would certainly be a surprise choice, seeing as he has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and AC Milan.

However, Al Ahly reportedly will approach him and if they fail to bring him in, they will sign Qatar coach Bruno Metsu.

Rijkaard already has a history with Egypt, having played against them in the World Cup in 1990 with the Netherlands.

In his coaching career he has been in charge of the Dutch national team and also Sparta Rotterdam and Barcelona.
