Nigeria’s assistant coach Daniel ‘the Bull’ Amokachi has said that the Super Eagles will not be expecting an easy ride during the first round of the World Cup in June where they are drawn in Group B alongside Argentina, Greece and South Korea.
”We cannot be playing at the World Cup and be expecting easy games. This competition is for the best teams in the world” Amokachi told The Punch.
‘The Bull’ who scored two goals during Nigeria’s first tournament appearance at USA '94 said, ”Nigeria is playing against two countries we have met before at the same stage and so we have an idea of what to expect in the two games.
”Our first match is vital and incidentally it is against Argentina. We just have to give our best shot to win that game.
”We have good players that can do the country proud but the problem has always been that of time. We should have enough time to work on them for the World Cup.
“We have no choice but to raise our present level and the players are aware of this.”
