Player Ratings: Mexico 2-2 Trinidad & Tobago

Goal.com's Luis Bueno rates the individual performances in Mexico's 2-2 draw at Trinidad & Tobago on Wednesday.

Trinidad and Tobago - Mexico (Mexsport)
Mexico

Guillermo Ochoa - 5
: Came up with a few saves but wasn't his usual active, assertive self; maybe that was more of a product of bad central defense pairing.

Jose Antonio Castro - 5: Contributed little to the attack on the right side.

Jonny Magallon - 4: Dismal effort from the Chivas man; beaten badly by Baptiste on his second goal; Magallon-Moreno pairing not good.

Hector Moreno - 4: Shaky qualifying debut for AZ Alkmaar man. Did not show much, but could chalk it up to nerves.

Carlos Salcido - 6.5
: Salcido showed up on defense, so not all was lost in that unit.

Israel Castro - 5.5
: Not a whole lot from Castro save for some decent passes.

Gerardo Torrado - 4.5
: Blatant handball in box led to Trinidad penalty kick goal.

Andres Guardado - 6.5
: Probably Mexico's most dangerous player, at least in first half. Had some good looks, including a shot on goal late in first half; removed at halftime.

Francisco Palencia - 5.5
: Some good hustle by Paco but not much danger on attack save for a potent shot early in second half.

Miguel Sabah - 5: Sabah needs someone to play off of, and he didn't have that player behind him in this game.

Carlos Vela - 5.5: Quiet performance from Arsenal man. A little too physical with Trinidad defense. Best chance was shot off crossbar midway through second half.

Substitutions

Pablo Barrera - 6.5: Replaced Guardado at halftime; served up assist to Salcido on his goal and nearly goee one of his own.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco 6.5 -
: Got an assist on Esqueda's goal; created several more chances for Mexico as offense worked better with him in there.

Enrique Esqueda - 6.5: Focused from moment he stepped on the field; got nice goal to add to his list of reasons why he should be on the World Cup roster.

Trinidad

Marvin Phillip - 5.5: Made several strong saves, kept Trinidad in game early on; defense let him down in front

Jake Thomson - 6
: Not caught out of position often and helped Trinidad stay strong in back.

Robert Primus - 5.5
: Smashed header off crossbar but defensive effort wasn't all there.

Dennis Lawrence - 5.5: Did well to use his big frame to thwart Mexican attacks; didn't so well to stop Salcido on Mexico's second goal though.

Kern Cupid - 6.5
: Another player who held his position well and gave little away.

Trent Noel - 6
: Removed late as hosts tried for some late offense.

Hayden Tinto - 6
: Decent effort in midfield; unit seemed to dip without him in there.

Clyde Leon - 5.5: Could have showed more in his time on the field

Devon Jorsling - 6: Another tactical sub; did well during his time on field.

Carlos Edwards - 6.5: His usual dangerous self as he tested Mexico's defense often.

Kerry Baptiste - 8.5: Best performance in match. Had three chances early on, but got his goal via a well- taken penalty kick.

Substitutes

Hughton Hector - 6.5: Excellent cross to Baptiste for Trinidad's second goal.

Kenwyne Jones - 5.5
: Brought on for late winner but couldn't quite find the ball in positions of danger.

Densill Theobald - 5
: Didn't make much of an impact during his time on the field.
