Korean FA Complains To FIFA Over Saudi Laser Beam

The Korea Football Association (KFA) have made an official complaint to FIFA following an incident in last week’s 2010 World Cup qualification win in Saudi Arabia when a laser beam was pointed at goalkeeper Lee Woon-jae.

The veteran shotstopper claimed that he was repeatedly blinded by the green beam emanating from the crowd at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.

Lee protested to the referee at the time, saying that he was unable to see for three seconds after the ray was directed at his eyes.  

"Disturbing competitors apparently violates the fair play sprit of FIFA. We have brought bring a lawsuit (to make sure) this incident does not occur again.'' a KFA spokesperson told local media in Seoul.  

Japan also complained to FIFA in September after laser beams were pointed at a number of their players during a World Cup qualifier in Bahrain.
