Bahrain Name Squad For Saudi Arabia World Cup Play-Off
The countdown to the Middle-East showdown has begun...
Bahrain have named their squad for September’s Asian zone
play-off for the 2010 World Cup.
The tiny West Asian nation face a two-legged battle with Saudi Arabia.
The winner will take on Oceania champions New Zealand in October for a place in South Africa.
Coach Milan Macala has summoned three new players in his squad of 26.
Those named in the roster will participate in a training camp ahead of the match.
Defenders Hassan Khamis of Al Malkiya and Al Ahli's Habib Nesaif will take part, as will East Riffa midfielder Ahmed Abdulla.
The 26-strong squad, which doesn’t include Europe-based stars Abdullah Fatai and Jaycee John, will start training on July 27 before heading to a European training camp.
