Sergio Aguero, who scored Argentina's equalizer in the second half after coming on as a substitute after the break, stated that their World Cup qualifier with Paraguay in Buenos Aires "was very difficult, but at least we (Argentina) drew" the match.
"Things got very complicated for us because we played with only ten men. As well as this, Paraguay marked tightly in the midfield, they played very well against us," Aguero told the local press after the match.
Argentina's only goal of the match was courtesy of the Atletico Madrid striker, who finished off a brilliant attacking move that was orchestrated by the always lively Lionel Messi. "Hopefully this partnership (Messi & Aguero) continues to function in the long run," he stated.
Aguero believes the result was "fair, because they (Paraguay) were superior to us in the first half, but when we dominated the match we played much better, and we created the better opportunities to score."
From the events in the match he explained that he liked the "second half of Argentina, because the level of football increased significantly."
Aguero was happy with his overall performance, but he would have liked to have put another of his few opportunities away. "I tried to finish off that one (opportunity) in a different way, but it ended up coming off my knee."
