Montenegro Make “Anti-Italy” Call-Ups

Italy, Bulgaria, The Republic of Ireland, Georgia, Cyprus, and Montenegro make up Group 8 of the World Cup qualifiers in the European section.  So far, the Azzurri lead the way with two wins from two matches, but they have some tough tests against Bulgaria on Montenegro on October 11 and 15.

Montenegro coach Zoran Filipovic has chosen his anti-Italy squad for the match on October 15th that will take place at the Stadio Via Del Mare in Lecce. His name includes a couple of familiar faces for Serie A fans as Roma's Mirko Vucinic and Fiorentina youngster Stefan Jovetic are included in the former Red Star Belgrade manager's call-ups.

Montenegro has had a difficult start to their World Cup qualifying campaign so far, but remain undefeated with two draws from their first two matches. Here is a list of Filipovic's squad:

Goalkeepers - Vukašin Poleksić (Debrecen), Mladen Bozovic (Partizan Belgrade);

Defenders - Savo Pavicevic (Energie Cottbus), Radoslav Batak (Ankaraspor), Jovan Tanasijević (Dynamo Moscow), Milan Jovanovic (Universitatea Cluj), Vlado Jeknic (Wehen Wiesbaden), Elsad Zverotic (Lucerne), Luka Pejovic (Mogren Budva), Vladimir Bozovic (Rapid Bucharest)

Midfielders - Branko Bošković (Rapid Vienna), Mitar Novakovic (Amkar Perm), Nikola Drincic (Amkar Perm), Ivan Delic (Buducnost Podgorica), Simon Vukčević (Sporting Lisbon), Igor Burzanović (Red Star Belgrade), Nikola Vujovic (Mogren Budva)

Forwards - Mirko Vucinic (Roma), Stevan Jovetić (Fiorentina), Dragan Bogavac (Mainz), Dejan Damjanovic (FC Seoul), Radomir Djalovic (Rapid Bucharest).

Italy coach Marcello Lippi will make his call-ups on Sunday after the afternoon round of Serie A matches.
