The Nigerian currently finds himself the fourth or fifth striker at the Biancocelesti behind Mauro Zarate, Goran Pandev and captain Tomasso Rocchi, while Simone Inzaghi was given a boost at the end of last year with Delio Rossi showing some faith in the younger of the Inzaghi brothers.
Makinwa has found very little space in Rossi’s plans this season, and the capital club's fans do not seem to be too disappointed by news of a potential transfer for the player away from Rome.
His availability has peaked the interest of a number of clubs in the Italian top-flight, with promoted side Bologna leading the pack.
Sinisa Mihajlovic recently took over at the club, and he has made his will to strengthen the side during the transfer window well known.
The Rossoblu are in negotiations with the Biancocelesti in order to capture the Nigeria international for the second part of the season, which will most probably see Bologna struggling to avoid relegation.
