Zenga’s time spent coaching in Romania allowed him to capture the transfer of playmaker Dica earlier in the year, but the former Steaua Bucuresti man has not found much playing time in the south of Italy.

This has forced him to make a decision based on a very important factor: the Romanian national side and the player has asked for a transfer. Dica debuted for Romania in October 2003 in a friendly game against Japan and has since gone on to score nine goals and perform well for his country.

In response to the skilful Dica’s request, Zenga said, “Dica has not settled in and asked to leave. I tried to give him a game at Siena, but during the game he told me that he did not feel up to playing, whereas I wanted to give him some space.”

It seems that his lack of play in Serie A has forced the player to move on and he is not even willing to play anymore, meaning that Zenga will let him move on without a fight.
