Now he hopes that the Grifoni will continue on the winning path to keep up the momentum they built in recent weeks.
"It's very important to obtain another win on Sunday to capitalize the first away win, after other times we went only close to do so," explained the Brazilian player.
Motta then went on to talk about his new team's fans, particularly during the derby della Lanterna against Sampdoria.
"I was very surprised by the support and the atmosphere with which Genoa lives its derby games," he continued.
"At Barcelona the public was more detached, as members of all ages, including many old people, go at the stadium.
"For me it's an honour to wear the Genoa shirt. I'm fine here and I found trust around me."
The 26-year-old midfielder joined Genoa this past summer from Atletico Madrid, even though he will mostly be remembered for his seven years spent at Barcelona.
