Championship side Coventry City, looking to plug a gap at right-back have given Ulises De la Cruz a trial.
The 34-year-old South American, who earned 84 caps for Ecuador, was released by Reading in the summer.
Sky Blues manager Chris Coleman sees him as a possible solution to a problem position which midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has been trying to fill as an emergency measure in the absence of the injured right-back Stephen Wright.
With Coventry due to face Preston North End on Saturday, Coleman is likely to give specialist full-back De la Cruz, who has bags of experience, the chance to impress him and earn a contract in the process.
