Championship play-off hopefuls Plymouth argyle are in talks with Manchester United with regard to extending Craig Cathcart's loan spell at Home Park, according to reports in the British Press.
The Northern Ireland under-21 international, who has six caps to his name, has impressed during his spell with the Pilgrims, making 14 league appearances so far this season.
The 19-year-old's loan deal is set to come to an end at the end of December, but Argyle are hopeful of retaining his services for the remainder of the season.
Meanwhile, it is claimed the Plymouth, along with League One side Oldham Athletic, are weighing up a move for Pakistan international defender Zesh Rehman.
The former Fulham centre-back is currently on-loan at Blackpool from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers but he has been limited to only three substitute appearances at Bloomfield Road this season.
