Amsterdam giants Ajax are keen on adding highly-rated centre-back Robbie Wielaert to their squad with immediate effect, and have already agreed personal terms with the former PSV starlet.

Nevertheless, negotiations about the transfer fee aren’t going as well as expected and an agreement between Ajax and Twente appears to be miles away.

Wielaert claims to have signed a new deal at Twente containing a limited fee release clause of €4 million and Ajax are ready to match this asking price. However, his current side Twente deny the existence of a new contract and are reluctant to let go of the 30-year-old.

The Enschede side only want to sell him for the right price and turned down Ajax’s €4 million offer, much to the dismay of Wielaert.

According to Ajax’s technical director Danny Blind, the defender is so fed up with the situation that he considers going to court in order to get his desired move to the Amsterdam giants.
