Rotterdam giants Feyenoord have finally received some good news from the treatment table.

Tricky winger Diego Biseswar doesn't need surgery in order to fully recover from the knee injury he sustained in the warming-up of Feyenoord's KNVB Beker match against HHC Hardenberg.

The talented attacker missed the cup match and Feyenoord feared for a lengthy layoff of their top scorer.

Nevertheless, an MRI scan has made it clear that his knee isn't seriously damaged and that surgery isn't necessary. Biseswar simply needs rest to recover, and he will most likely be sidelined for two weeks.

The pint-sized winger was thought to be surplus to requirements at De Stadionclub at the beginning of the season, but he has developed into an important first team member ever since.

Biseswar has scored five goals in ten league appearances this campaign.
