Javier Calleja has made no secret of the fact that he wants to join Deportivo when his contract expires in the summer, despite ongoing discussion of a new deal with Malaga.
The 30-year-old winger is wanted by the Galicians and their interest has meant that he now views a switch to Riazor as his number one choice at the end of the current season.
Deportivo have yet to make a formal offer but Calleja believes that something could happen soon and would like the situation swiftly resolved.
"The interest from Deportivo is flattering and I will decide quickly [where my future lies]," AS quote him as saying. "I am flattered that a club with the history and stature of Deportivo want me to join.
"It would be beneficial for me, for my family and for the club if things are decided soon. We will be calmer and Malaga will be able to seek a replacement in plenty of time.
"Apart from Malaga, the offer from Depor is the one that attracts me most. They are a big club with ambition, a young team and [a side] that will grow [in stature].
"I think that they are very competitive."
Depor are not the only club to have made enquiries about his services, however, Calleja has set his sights on the move after seeing talks with Malaga fail to produce a deal.
"At the start, our positions were not far apart, but now there have been offers and counter-offers,” he continued “There is still a possibility of something, but it would take a lot [to get me to sign].
" Many teams have made contact [with me], but that is normal because my contract is finishing and I am the sort of player that they want."
