Real Mallorca have had a troubled season both on and off the pitch so far, but it looks as though at least one of the problem areas will be resolved today.

Marca reports that the island side will be appointing Juan Antonio Ramonell as their new president this afternoon, after proposed sales of the club fell through.

The decision will mean that former president, Vicente Grande, will be replaced, and it is thought it could well do the club good to have a new man at the helm.

Ramonell is the former mayor of Montuiri and he has shared professional dealings with Grande in the past.

Mallorca currently sit 18th in the La Liga table and are a struggling to pick up points both at home, and away, much to the frustration of their fans.

In their last game before the Christmas break they take on Sevilla and will be keen to take all three points to keep them out of trouble, for a short while at least.
