"We scored some delightful goals in the 4-2 victory. On our day, we can beat anybody in Holland, including Ajax," Advocaat was quoted as saying on the official PSV website.
"We dominated large spells of the game and looked pretty sharp out there, but there were also moments where we needed to be sharper.
"PSV had a quality squad last season, but I think we have even improved the team by bringing in Mark van Bommel and Luciano Narsingh."
The Eindhoven side will start the 2012-13 Eredivisie campaign with an away match against RKC next weekend.
Ajax, on the other hand, take on regional rivals AZ in their curtain raiser on Sunday.
