A move to Europe still seems to be a realistic option for the attacking midfielder, though, as PSG are believed to be in advanced talks to bring Lucas to Ligue 1.
Sporting director Leonardo has already met with Lucas' agent Wagner Ribeiro to discuss a potential deal, and the Champions League hopefuls are ready to table an offer close to €40m.
Nevertheless, the 19-year-old might have to wait for his transfer to be completed until the January transfer window as PSG already have a maximum of four non-EU players in their squad at the moment with Thiago Silva, Alex, Maxwell and Milan Bisevac.
The latter has been living in France for five years, though, and is expected to receive dual nationality in the not too distant future. However, it is unlikely that all formalities will be completed before the European transfer window slams shut on August 31.
