M'Bia or Azpilicueta will leave Marseille this summer, admits Anigo

The cash-strapped Ligue 1 outfit must sell before they can buy, and have decided that they must flog either their versatile centre-back or Spanish full-back
Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has revealed that the club will sell either Stephane M'Bia and Cesar Azpilicueta in order to raise funds for new signings.

The central defender, who can also play in defensive midfield, has been linked with a move to Galatasaray as an alternative to Felipe Melo, while the Spanish right-back has reportedly attracted the interest of Chelsea and Valencia.

Anigo would like to hold onto both players but concedes the club's financial situation is such that one of them must leave the Stade Velodrome.

"Everybody has to sell before buying," he told RTL. "In effect, it could either be M'Bia and Azpi. But for now, nothing has changed.

"Azpi has the profile to go to a big club. Either there will be a big club [for him] or he will remain here."

Nicolas Nkoulou, meanwhile, has claimed he has no desire to leave and insists there is no truth in reports linking him with a move away from southern France.

"With regard to the [alleged] contact [of other clubs], I am not aware of anything," the stopper told RMC. "It is my agent who worries about these things. I will honour my contract for now.

"I am tied to OM until 2015 and I will again carry the colours of Marseille this season. I came here because OM is a great club that I greatly appreciate.

"I want to be one of those players who writes on the beautiful pages of this club's history and it would not be good for me to leave under such circumstances.

"My great desire is to continue with Marseille."

Elie Baup's side will kick off their Ligue 1 campaign against Rennes on August 12.
