thumbnail Hello,

The Eredivisie club have named the 49-year-old as the man to succeed John van der Brom following the previous incumbent's decision to join Anderlecht in May

Vitesse have named Fred Rutten as their coach for the 2012-13 season, the club have confirmed.

The former Twente and Schalke boss had been unemployed since March after being sacked by PSV following a poor run of form, which saw them eliminated from the Europa League and fall away in the race for the Eredivisie title.

However, he has penned a one-year deal with the Arnhem outfit and replaces John van der Brom, who took up the managerial vacancy at Anderlecht last month, following his exploits in guiding Vitesse to a seventh-placed finish last term.

Assisting Rutten will be Stanley Menzo and Albert Capellas, who both stay on in their respective roles, having worked under Van der Brom and also Albert Ferrer.
