Maher sets sights on PSV move: 'I think I have already played my last game for AZ'

The versatile midfielder is under contract with his current club AZ, but is hopeful of making the move to the Eindhoven giants this summer
Adam Maher has revealed that he is keen to leave AZ for Eredivisie rivals PSV ahead of the 2012-13 campaign. The Eindhoven side have reportedly already approached the young midfielder's agent to discuss a potential move, but have yet to make a formal offer for Maher.
Nevertheless, the Netherlands Under-21 star, who just missed out on Oranje's Euro 2012 squad, is keeping optimistic that he will play his football for PSV next term.
"AZ know how I feel about this. I am ready to make the next step in my career. I think that I have already played my last official game for AZ," Maher told De Telegraaf.
"Things can go really quick from here on, because we're talking about a club where I can make a nice step forward."
Maher's agent Sigi Lens added that the teenager is happy to stay in the Eredivisie as he wants to fight for silverware and soon break into Netherlands' national side.
"Maher wants to stay in Netherlands, but at a club that always plays for the league title. And he also wants to become a regular at Oranje. He has more chance of achieving that at PSV than at AZ," commented Lens to NUsport.
The 18-year-old has a contract with AZ until June 2015, but an offer in excess of €10 million could lure him away from the Alkmaar side.
