The agent of Marseille's Mathieu Valbuena insists that the midfielder will not be leaving the club during January amid reported interest from Tottenham.

The France international has recently been linked in the French press with a move to the Premier League high-flyers.

However, these claims have since been rebuffed by his representative Christophe Hutteau, who exclusively revealed to Goal.com on Saturday that Valbuena will stay loyal to his current employers.

"I will not comment on what is said in the press," he stressed.

"However I can tell you that Mathieu is a Marseille player and will remain here until the end of the season."

Valbuena has grown into a key performer for Marseille as a creative attacking midfielder in recent years following his debut in 2006. He has also earned nine caps for France, scoring twice.
