France's Samir Nasri to miss friendly matches against USA & Belgium with injury

The Manchester City playmaker has been confirmed as an absentee for the two clashes ahead, with the national coach yet to decide whether to call up a replacement

The French Football Federation has announced that midfielder Samir Nasri will not take part in the upcoming friendly matches against the United States and Belgium.

The 24-year-old has sustained an injury to his left patellar tendon, with medical tests undergone on Tuesday morning confirming he will not be fit for the matches ahead.

Yohan Cabaye, Florent Malouda and Loic Remy are all recovering from minor knocks and their involvement in the upcoming matches is still in doubt.

"The first days of a training camp are always very hard for the medical staff," Blanc told reporters at a press conference.

"We will take stock of the situation on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday morning, depending on the condition of the players, decide whether to stick to the current group or call up one or two extra players."

France, who are already qualified for the Euro 2012 finals, host the United States on November 11 and then Belgium four days later, both matches being played at the Stade de France.
