thumbnail Hello,

Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Luiz Adriano is itching to set the record straight against Barcelona and is still hopeful of reaching the semi-finals.

Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk were heavily beaten 5-1 in the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona, but striker Luiz Adriano hasn't given up on qualification for the semi-finals just yet.

"We don't just want to beat Barcelona in the second leg, but we want to reach the next round as well. That's all we want. What's the point of playing if we have already given up on the semi-finals?" said Adriano to Sport.

"Barcelona beat us 5-1 at home, so why shouldn't be able to beat them 4-0? We won 3-0 against Roma and we need only one goal more. There are still 90 minutes to be played and the team is still convinced that we can progress."

Adriano also briefly looked back on the first-leg and stated that Shakhtar could easily have got a better result at Camp Nou.

"We didn't really have a bad game as we created plenty of chances. We were unlucky to score only once. Barcelona were the more effective team. The result can't be changed any more though and we're eager to bounce back with a win."

Shakhtar host Barcelona at the Donbass Arena on Tuesday evening at 20:45 CET.
