OFFICIAL: Inverness Snap Up Richie Byrne
Inverness have signed their fourth player in the January transfer window.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have snapped up Richie Byrne on a contract until the end of the season.
Byrne, best known up north for his spells with Aberdeen and Dunfermline Athletic, is now returning to the Scottish Premier League having previously had a spell in England with Oldham Athletic.
The defender has had problems with his fitness, but club manager Craig Brewster is confident that the Highlanders will see the best of him.
"If we can get him fully fit he will be an excellent asset,” he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
“It's a great opportunity for him to come into an environment where we will really look after him."
Brewster, who knows Byrne well having played with him at Dunfermline, added that trio Rory McAllister, Lionel Djebi-Zadi and Zander Sutherland are available to be picked up on loan.
Byrne joins Filipe Morais, Thierry Gathuessi and Pavels Mahadjuks as January transfer window additions to the squad.
Inverness are currently embroiled in a relegation battle with around four other clubs as they try to preserve their SPL status.
