Former Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has hailed Mehdi Benatia and believes the Morocco international is just the defender the Bundesliga champions needed.
The 27-year-old joined Bayern from Roma this week for a transfer fee which could rise to €30m and is expected to slot into the team immediately with Javi Martinez out injured until at least the turn of the year.
And Toni is confident that the centre-back will make an instant impact at his new club.
"When someone is a great player, it is always hard to define exactly why he is such a good player," Toni was quoted as saying by Sport Bild.
"It's all pretty clear with Benatia, though. He's got it all.
"He is very strong, he is tall and he is fast. He always finds himself in the right position and is tactically strong as well."
Benatia had only joined Roma from Udinese in the summer of 2013, but his good performances last season earned him the interest of top teams such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, but he eventually opted to join Bayern.
The former Olympique de Marseille man signed a five-year deal with the Bavarians and will be wearing the No.5 jersey at his new club.
