The Borussia Dortmund coach is delighted with how the young defender has developed this season but is eager not to fuel speculation over a place in Joachim Low's plansBorussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp has hailed Erik Durm's development this season and believes the young defender could go to the World Cup with Germany.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season for BVB, with Marcel Schmelzer having struggled with injuries all year long.
He was one of the stars of his side's 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich and Klopp is delighted with the impact the former Mainz youngster has had.
"Durm has a lot of quality and he seems to be faster than, for example, Schmelzer," he is quoted as saying by WAZ.
"I look forward to any of my boys getting a call-up, but I don't want to fuel up any speculation. It doesn't surprise me that he has developed so quickly.
"His journey is not over. We didn't hesitate to play him against Real Madrid and Bayern. The boy is one thing above all: patient enough to work on himself."
Durm will have another chance to impress when Dortmund take on Wolfsburg in the DFB Pokal semi-final on Tuesday.
