The former Germany international is not amused with the ongoing criticism of the Bavarians' philosophy

Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer feels other Bundesliga clubs are jealous of the Bavarians' recent successes.

The Allianz Arena club have developed into one of the dominant sides in European football in the past 18 months, yet have been heavily criticised in Germany for their transfer policy and attitude toward other teams, much to the dismay of Sammer.

"In the past 18 months, Bayern have won six trophies out of a possible seven in Germany, Europe and worldwide," Sammer told Sport Bild.

"Rather than discuss how Bayern became so successful, the other clubs are acting jealous and trying to make us look like the bad guys.

"I simply cannot understand this jealousy toward Bayern."

Sammer made headlines earlier this month after a war of words with Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, but he feels he was not in the wrong with his claims that Bayern train harder than other teams.

"I only explained how we train and how this helps get the best out of our players, regardless of how good they already are.

"I don't really understand all the uproar. The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world, yet we only have two teams left in the European competitions. That's not enough and proves that my remarks were right."

Bayerrn qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League by eliminating Arsenal, while Borussia Dortmund are on the verge of reaching the final eight as well after beating Zenit St Petersburg 4-2 in the first-leg of their round-of-16 tie.
