Dortmund and Schalke had contrasting fortunes in Europe in midweek and that continued when they returned to Bundesliga action on Saturday.

BVB, on the back of their 4-2 win over Zenit, beat Nurnberg 3-0, while S04 were handed yet another thumping, this time from Bayern Munich, having gone down 6-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

We begin Goal's Team of the Week in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, who was one of the key men as Armin Veh's men got over their European heartbreak by coming back from behind to beat Stuttgart 2-1.

At right-back, Stefan Bell gets the nod after helping Mainz stun Leverkusen at the BayArena, Mats Hummels marked his return to Bundesliga action with a goal and Niklas Sule was also on the scoresheet for Hoffenheim, who thrashed Wolfsburg 6-2. David Alaba completes the back line after scoring a free kick for Bayern and terrorising Schalke all game long.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan continued his good run of form with another goal for BVB, Zlatko Junuzovic delivered Werder Bremen's much-needed derby win over Hamburg, Sejad Salihovic shone for Hoffenheim and Arjen Robben scored a hat-trick for Bayern Munich.

Robert Lewandowski starts up front after scoring his third goal in week and Anthony Modeste got two in Hoffenheim's rout of Wolfsburg.
