The Bavarian side's sporting director is happy with his team's progress and says they have the form and quality to see off the challenge of lowly Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga
The Bavarians defeated the German champions 1-0 on Wednesday and the 45-year-old felt it was a victory that will have a positive effect on the rest of the team's season.
"This victory adds to our self-belief – it confirms we’re on the right track," Sammer told FCB.tv.
The former Germany sweeper also expressed his optimism about his side's upcoming Bundesliga clash with Hoffenheim, adding: “I was pleased with training today, they were really giving it their all.
"We have to keep doing what we've been doing, but I’m optimistic we can [win].”
Bayern are enjoying an impressive season so far and currently lie 17 points clear at the top of the league standings.
Die Roten also look set to progress in the Champions League following a comprehensive 3-1 success over Arsenal in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
