The defensive midfielder is of the opinion that the lightweights could defeat his former club if they exhibit the right attitude and play to the best of their ability
The 27-year-old graduted from der Rekordmeister's academy and played 92 times for the first team before leaving the club to join Hertha last year.
Ottl transferred to Augsburg following the Old Lady's relegation, and is looking forward to the Bavarian debry.
"Everything is sorted out: The big Bayern, who play for titles every season, against small challengers that are trying to establish themselves in the Bundesliga," he was quoted as saying by TZ.
"We can see it every weekend that the underdog can bring down the favourite. If Bayern do not reach 100 percent and we are on top, we have a chance.
"If we can make Bayern tumble, we will be happy, we need every point. Maybe they will underestimate us a little bit.
"It's impressive how they perform this year. But they need to bring consistency after this brilliant first half of the season. I don't see them collapsing but they will become Bundesliga champions," he said.
