The Bavarians have lost out on the national title to Borussia Dortmund for the last two seasons, and face the current champions on Saturday.
However, they meet Freiburg on Wednesday, and the Germany international is determined to go into the clash in top form.
"We are nine points ahead, and it should stay that way," he told Sport1.
"We can widen the gap between us and Dortmund, but we have to beat Freiburg first. Freiburg have a young team and are strong at home. They play with passion - that is why we will be wary against them."
