Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes will have to make do without the services of Holger Badstuber for at least two weeks with a ruptured thigh muscle.
The Germany international picked up the problem in Bayern's 2-1 Bundesliga defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, and Heynckes stated on Monday that Badstuber could be out of action for a while.
The Bavarians have now announced on their official website that the centre-back will be sidelined for a minimum of 14 days.
"It's a bad loss. I hope we can replace him adequately," commented Heynckes on Badstuber's absence.
The 23-year-old defender has featured in every competitive match so far this term for Bayern, but will now miss the games against Kaiserslautern, Hamburg, Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt.
