League Table
FORTUNA DUSSELDORF
2 2 SCHALKE
Fortuna Dusseldorf kept up their excellent start to life in the Bundesliga by holding Ruhr rivals Schalke to a 2-2 draw at home on Friday night.

Things started fantastically for the visitors, who roared into an early lead via Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, the Dutchman powering an unstoppable effort into the back of the net from 25 yards, after showcasing some magnificent skill inside the opening quarter of the match. Joel Matip made it two moments later when he headed home Christian Fuchs' left-wing free kick, and Huub Stevens' side were seemingly coasting.

However, the second half was to be a totally different affair, with Dani Schahin clawing back one shortly after the restart when he flicked Andriy Voronin's corner over the head of Lars Unnerstall. Schalke were then under pressure for much of the second half until Schahin finally grabbed an equaliser when he superbly headed home Tobias Levels' cross.

Schalke currently sit level on points with champions and arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund in fourth place. Dusseldorf are hot on their heels in sixth.

LEVERKUSEN
2 0 GREUTHER FURTH
Bayer Leverkusen continued their ascent up the table by beating struggling Bavarian outfit Greuther Furth at the BayArena on Saturday afternoon.

Stefan Kiessling was inches away from giving the hosts an early lead after a game of pinball in the area, shortly before Andre Schurrle's long-range effort flew over. However, they broke the deadlock just after the break through half-time substitute Sidney Sam, who collected Andre Schurrle's weighted ball to tuck it past Max Grun in the visitors' goal.

Sam
had been out of the Werkself first-team of late, but well and truly staked his credentials for a regular spot soon after when he prodded Kiessling's square ball into an empty net.

Leverkusen have now claimed their third win of the season, and sit in seventh place, a mere point behind third-placed Dortmund.
HAMBURG
1 0 HANNOVER
Hamburg celebrated their 125th anniversary in the perfect manner, beating high-flying Hannover 1-0 at the Imtech Arena.

Artjoms Rudnevs grabbed the only goal of the game, his second in as many matches, on 20 minutes, but the hosts had to survive a second-half onslaught from Mirko Slomka's side. Didier Ya Konan came close to giving the visitors the lead with a spectacular scissor-kick, but saw his effort flash wide, before Moa Abdellaoue's effort went over.

Michael Mancienne was then called upon to clear Lars Stindl's volley off the line, and Rene Adler made great, late saves from both Abdellaoue and Ya Konan to seal the perfect birthday present for Thorsten Fink's resurgent side, who have now risen to 10th in the table. Hannover, after their fantastic start to the season, drop to fifth.
NURNBERG
0 2 STUTTGART
Stuttgart, who ended last season in such fantastic form, finally grabbed their first win of the current campaign when they travelled to Nurnberg on Saturday.

Vedad Ibisevic, who had been so poor in front of goal so far this term, was quick off the mark to give the visitors the lead in the opening seconds by capitalising on a sloppy back-pass from Marcos Antonio to steer the ball past Raphael Schafer in the opening seconds.

The hosts fought back from the early setback, though, and Timo Gebhart saw a well-placed effort drift narrowly wide of Sven Ulreich's left-hand post via a deflection, before the 24-year-old goalkeeper did well to turn a powerful Almog Cohen strike wide.

Hiroshi Kiyotake saw a curling free kick turned over the bar, but as the Bavarians piled on the pressure, Stuttgart were able to counter, and eventually Martin Harnik sealed all three points for his side with an angled breakaway effort.
HOFFENHEIM
0 0 AUGSBURG
Reeling from the news of Boris Vukcevic's tragic car crash, Hoffenheim were held to a 0-0 draw at home to bottom-of-the-table Augsburg.

The Hoffenheim squad rejected the option of postponing the game after their team-mate's accident, and started the game in reasonable form. Takashi Usami saw a powerful long-range effort drift narrowly wide, before visiting defender Sebastian Langkamp was forced to clear Joselu's header off the line.

Augsburg had their first effort of note shortly after the break, but Koen Casteels made an easy save from Daniel Baier's long-range shot. Usami sent a free kick well over the bar, and with just two minutes remaining, Sejad Salihovic's frustration boiled over. The 27-year-old went in with a reckless lunge on Tobias Werner, and was promptly sent off my referee Markus Schmidt.

This result sees Augsburg remain bottom of the table. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, climb to ninth place.

EINTRACHT FRANKFURT 2 1 FREIBURG
Eintracht Frankfurt came from behind to beat Freiburg 2-1 at the Commerzbank Arena and closed the gap between themselves and Bayern Munich to just two points.

The visitors perhaps had the better of the first half, with Julian Schuster, Daniel Caligiuri and Jonathan Scmid all squandering decent opportunities, although Pirmin Schwegler and Takashi Inui both forced decent saves from Oliver Baumann in the Freiburg goal.

Just minutes after the restart, though, Christian Streich's side took a shock lead, with Max Kruse capitalising on some confusion in the Frankfurt box to open the scoring. However, the lead lasted just 20 minutes. Alexander Meier levelled up the match with a brilliant volley from the edge of the area.

Five minutes later, the comeback was complete, and Meier was the hero once more, heading home a Bastian Oczipka corner. Karim Guede, a second-half substitute, received a late red card to make things worse for the visitors, who now sit in 14th place.
WOLFSBURG
0 2 MAINZ
Mainz claimed a much-needed 2-0 victory from their trip to the Volkswagen arena to face Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts started the match in encouraging fashion, but fell behind due to a defensive error after just 26 minutes. Andreas Ivanschitz swung in a free kick, and left-back Junior Diaz beat Naldo in the air to head the ball past Diego Benaglio in the hosts' goal.

Before Felix Magath's side had time to catch their breath, they were 2-0 down. Ivanschitz was the creator once more, swinging in a left-wing cross to the far post, and Adam Szalai was there to put the visitors into a commanding lead.

With boos ringing around the stadium, the hosts set about trying to find a path back into the match. Diego saw a couple of decent efforts miss the target, before Ivica Olic failed to find a target with a headed opportunity from which he should have done far better.

However, they were eventually unable to find a route back into the match, and slip into the relegation play-off place. Mainz, meanwhile rise to 11th, but are just two points above their opponents today.
